Artifacts and Treasures

With the passion of an archeologist
Finding a relic in the dirt
From the ruins of pain, an ancient bone
With care and gentleness
You brought it to the surface
Disloging it from it's resting place with great care
Ahhh an achient artifact brought into the world
But brittle and fragile it was
Found a home in your heart set into a special place
Upon the shelf it sat unhurt by the elements
It gathered hue and color and life again
Never to fall into the dark earth of lonliness again

But you grew weary of the bone
So another excavation another dig
This time a precious Jewel
Robust and brilliant it shimmered in the light
With Passion and beauty it glowed
As you polished and pampered it
The bone gathered dust on the shelf
Paled to the luster of the jewel
The new prize reveered, protected
But then the jewel lost a bit of it's luster
So on the shelf it went
Along with the bone

Another excavation, another dig
This time a nurturing spring is revealed
The taste of the mornng Dew
With eloquence and wisdom
It glistened in the Sun
Water the elixer of life
Quencher of thirst, value to all
Freshness of the morning
One of great presence and purpose
So another treasure is added to your life
So now three treasures upon your shelf
What is the value of each..........

The Jewel begins to sparkle again
Brings light and passion
And the Water gives life
Quenches the thrist of the mind
But what of the bone.........
It serves no purpose
So sit down with your three treasures
Gather them in a row
Each resurected from darkness
The Jewel reflects light
The Dew quenches thrist
The Bone cracks..........................
