Restrained

Not long ago

this seemed so defined

My fingertips

Touched

silken skin

Tracing

words of history

Each telling a

memoir of love

I experienced every

word as if I was with you

when they were written

I visualized each

Emotion

as if I was always

a part of the world

You’ve known

I tasted the tears

of all that was

Forgotten

the moment I marked

your skin

with words of my own

Moving my fingers

Slowly

Trying so very hard

to declare my passion

Wanting it to linger

on skin that will hold

the future

under heart shaped glass.
