The desire for memories

Memories, yes we all have these…
But they are reflections of events
we cannot change as seen through the
emotional filter of wherever we think we want to be,
never really where we truly are.
The truth of living in the present,
of truly living at all
is in looking at memories as something we
are making now to be looked back at
in some distant mirror of an
undefined future.
The memories we make in the lives
we touch today make all the difference in the world.
It is those memories that we have control over
here and now.
How do we want to remember and be remembered?
I do not want to have any regrets
that any person whose life I
touch today has any shadow of any doubt
about how I feel about them.
Living in this moment starts from
that desire…
