Love for Nopurpose

For a while there I thought you hated me.
To never speak no more to me.
Hoping it was all a mistake,
But I moved on.
Losing you, but still holding on.
'Till tonight, when I saw you again
Found you alive and well
Happier then ever before.
I found you, holding on too, but not as tightly.
We spoke, we exchanged, I cried, you left.
What I had found was but a glimpse of the past.
What i had found was what I would lose again.
Never to have held you,
But always to have loved,
May these tears dry
But the memories be permanent.
Of the Tonic that is Nopurpose,
Except for love.
