All of Me

My life long love, my stalwart mast,
The golden thread that binds me up;
My solace and my sorrow both,
My sweetness and my bitter cup.

The source of all my treasured joys,
The fountain of my pleasured hours
Who loves in spite of thorns and jibes
And deigns to climb my ivory towers.

Such smiles he brings, such clever wit
As ever lifted dullest eyes
And made their spirit laugh out loud
And ne'er remember burdened sighs.

He woos approval from my hand,
And seeks to know and please my will.
Such kisses freely he bestows
That make my beating heart stand still.

If all the earth were mine to give
A woeful recompense 'twould be;
But mind and heart and hand and breath
To my love I give all of me
