Sweet Memory

In frantic search of memories, of loves once passed you by,
you will come across a memory of the sweetest love lullaby
A memory for which the two of us so lovingly tucked away
with ideas of resurrection on a more accepting day
A day not so polluted, with others in our way
who shame us back and make us keep our sweetest love at bay

A memory of two birds in flight without a care to fall;
for it is on the wings of love they glide, and love can withstand a stall
A memory so awfully sweet, the bumblebees take swarm
and butterflies must flutter high so as to guarantee no harm
A memory of quiet evenings spent dancing with the stars
and basking in the warmth of this lost lovers arms

When this memory engulfs you, as I know it is sure to do,
you will know by your own emotion whether I am still in love with you
When you feel as if your own heart is being ripped in two,
then you will know that my heart still keeps it's beat for you!
When this day arises you may stand back and acclaim,
"Now is the day that no one can keep our sweet love at bay!"
