Candy Store

I am six all over again
my nose is pressed to glass
my heart is pounding in my chest
my eyes are afixed on the brilliant array
of colors and swirls
I am lost in the scent
I breath in the sweet aroma
I drool for a taste
   just a nibble will do
I place my hands on the glass
and press myself closer
I have a pig nose now
and no shame
I spot what it is I want
off in the distance
   all by itself
The jar is nearly full
   there is plenty left
but I am only six
and have no money...
