Socratic inquiry (corrected version)

Socrates once said, "I only know that which I do not know." Now when I
look at that statement, my first reaction is confusion and I think,
Socrates, what are you telling me? I suppose (in my humble analysis)
that Socrates was aware that as his knowledge grew, nothing was certain,
and it was easier to KNOW what he didn't know, than to realize what he
knew. *laughing* I'm confusing you aren't I? Well lets relate it to
romance and love.

We claim to know what love is. But really do we? So in Socratic method
we really know that we "don't know." We know that basically, we cannot
know everything there is about love. Therefore all the confusion. We
"know what we don't know".

YES, we are confused about love. We confuse lust for love, we confuse
friendship for love, we confuse emotions for love, but really, WHAT IS
LOVE? Today I take a stand. I define love on MY terms. From now on
I determine what love is to me. I guess what i'm getting around to,
is we all must define love personally. However, that's not enough.
It's not enough because love must be shared. If we love, regardless
of our definition, and don't share that love, then it's wasted isn't it?

Love...I define love as the ultimate emotional bond that can be shared
between two people. It can be romantic with our mates and it can be care and
concern for our family. Whether love is romantic or not, it must be shared.
Some of us find great difficulty in sharing. We write about our love, but
we can't speak about it. We share with everyone about our love, but
the persons we love. We demean and chastise or children in the name
of love and we confused lust and sex with love. Today i begin my quest to
define love on my terms. I vow to share the love i have found and to explore
within myself, the love i am capable of. Today My love defines itself as i
strive to share what my heart truly feels. Today I admit, "I only know that
which I do not know."
