breakwater banquet

thrill me with the wind upon your waters
your claws might lead to slaughter
i'd lay me down as fodder
just to feel you feeling me
like a white-capped wave on a stormy sea
a last kiss in a tragedy
with a blissful blanket of irony

windswept as the day when first i met you
blown fairly close to get you
kept far enough to let you
break upon my shoreline
take up just a short time
make your waves like a maritime
siren with a kiss divine

frothy now, i plunge into your riptide
your claws now rest at your side
our passions on the outside
to and fro, like waves we go
thrashing to the moonlight glow
few can say, and fewer know
how our aqualove still seems to grow

maybe now, and maybe in the morning
i'll wake up without warning
find the sky's dark and storming
wonder who your holding
who's arms you are unfolding
who's mind your body's molding
while i know it's mine you're scolding
