Forever Together

They say she can’t be saved, her world is lost to her.
Her mind is tainted and shattered.
A twisted soul caught between the britches of heaven and hell.
Whether it costs me a damned eternity or not,
I will try.

My eyes see pain and my head feels agony.
The heavenly cradle of humanity is slowly dwindling with obscurity.
I writhe in anguish and begin to succumb to the discomfort.
A sensation of falling fills my body.
I descend into a deep orbiting vortex and soon find myself on a hard ground.
My ears are filled with bitter moans and cries.
Withered souls and dark beings fill a dark, desolate room.
They stare at me with deep sunken eyes.
I feel their pain, their anguish, their torment, and it rips me inside.
Hands begin to rain on me, tearing at my flesh.
It is all too much to bear.
Screaming in horror, I avert my eyes.
The cries die down…
I open eyes.

In such a vast horrid hell, where can I find the limbo in which she dwells in?
I reminisce about the great times we had together,
And think of the places we dreamed of going, but never went.
I blink.

I am in a boundless, flaming field
Covered in a vast array of black roses.
Road forms in the middle of the field, it leads to the heart of the fire,
I follow.
The flames begin to grow and spread rapidly,
I am consumed.
My flesh sears and my immortal body aches.
Cries fill my ears,
I run towards them.
Before me lies a charred, burnt form,
Contorting in bitter turmoil.
This cannot be!
In exchange of eternal ecstasy, I have received eternal hell with a deathly soul.
It looks up at me,
I gasp at what I see…

Two grief-stricken, ravishing hazel eyes stare at me with grief.
They begin to sparkle ever so gently, releasing blood-filled tears.
All the pain no longer exists.
It is she, and I realize why I have journeyed and given up so much to be here.
I hold her frail, withered body close to me,
And I promise to stay with her for all eternity.
Tears roll down my cheeks as I close my eyes gently.

Our bodies burn alive within the fire,
But the feeling of pain doesn’t overcome the feeling of love.
A soothing coolness cloaks my body.
Water begins to rain upon me.
I feel a warm, yet conforming heat descend upon my body.
I open my eyes.

My eyes no longer sting as they look upon this new land.
The flames have degenerated.
A sweet smell flares through my nostrils.
Red roses line this healthy green field.
This is all so beautiful, but where is she?
Where has she gone?
I scream once again...
I want to go back!
My name trickles through my ears,
Someone is calling to me.
I turn.
In the distance I see a magnificent, graceful figure stand tall and proud.
Her long and flowing auburn hair dances in the lighted sky.
Soft, tender lips form the words of my name.
I never look back as I run towards my everlasting mate.
We submerge one another, and alas find peace together.
