I Need To Know

I need to know you love me.
I need to know it's true.
I want to know you need me.
I know that I need you.

If only you would look inside,
your heart would let you know.
That just because you say it,
doesn't always make it so.

I don't want you to love me
just because I am here.
Love me because it's true.
Help ease this awful fear.

Take a look inside yourself
and see if you find me there.
Then tell me if you love me,
and if you really care.

If one cannot know their heart,
then one cannot understand
that knowing what you truly want
is knowing what to demand.

Ask yourself this question...
is this really what I need?
And if you find it isn't,
then only one will have to bleed.

For if you lie to yourself,
then two will pay the price.
In order to save a love
you must learn to sacrifice.

I would die a thousand deaths
and then I bet you'd see,
that I want to see you nowhere else,
beside right here with me.

But if your heart needs more
than I could ever give, then I would let you go
so that you could.
The question would be only this...
What good is it to beg for a hug
if you were meant only for a kiss?
