rest

lay your stressed body for a day and rest
they also grow tired even them that are best
block off the office and sleep for a while
dream of anything that could make you smile

pretend you're a queen (though to me you are)
do nothing and be lazy like a shining star
in heaven, just hanging on the sky at night
enjoying the view (and still shining bright)

relax like the sea calm on a sunny day
allow your conciousness to just float away
and take you to places you've never been before
be free to imagine, leave the world out your door

for once don't be like the hands of the clock
moving and moving in constant tick-tock
greet the morning sun on your bed this day
not on your cubicle where the rays never stray

I wish I could serve you your breakfast in bed
toasts, bacons, and eggs, three roses (all red)
then maybe you'd stay there comfy and warm
away from the world, away from any harm

rest my dear, rest, relax and do nothing
you've work yourself too hard your body's complaining
spend today replenishing the stamina you've used
there's a limit to a body's tolerance from abuse...
