razorcap

i miss you now, my own true friend
it beats me back when i'm in bed
and driving drinks into my head
seems only to let me pretend
that you have slipped from me to dead
not seeing life 'cause the colors blend
and swirl and swoop and condescend
another new beginning's end
a rag-doll heart too torn to mend
a broken knee too dull to bend
a darkness dank without amend
a lightened laugh that's cursed with dread
the bow that's breaking overhead
a poet's mind with thoughts unsaid
a cup of wine without the bread
letters written ne'er to send
the rancid trough where pigs are fed

these tainted thoughts held once again
just can't let love flow from this pen
