Desert Flower

My heart has grown and changed
Into some exotic species
Blooming when my thirst is quenched
The thirst of missing you.

I am a moonlit desert
You caress with raindrops
The rainfall soaks in –
Gets under my skin.

My heart opens like a flower
Velvet petals, reds all
Colors swirl together
Like a river's flow.

But the desert is mysterious
Reality won't bend
And so I embrace another drought
And the thirst of missing you.
