I Can Still See Me.

I miss the light,
that shined so bright
that even I was blinded
from the power of it.

I miss the laugh
that chimed like bells
and dimpled checks
I miss as well.

I miss her strength
she stood so straight
she emitted a calm
a cooling grace.

Now she alone
lays in the night
wondering how
she lost her fight.

But it wasn't lost
But freely give
to someone who
had much less to give.

As I look in this mirror
I see the reflection of my broken soul.
I see the lost, I see the pain, the hurt.
But at least in the distance of my eyes
I can still see me.
Thank God,
I can still see me.
