Price of a Slayer's Love

I'm sorry my love
That you cannot see
That I'm not your enemy
though you have once loved me.

Ever since that fateful night
I held you close to my heart
My love for you never fade
though now we've part.

Your lust for blood made us mortal enemies
The slayer and the son of darkness
In our last fight, I lost a friend
then, I vowed you life I'll end.

Our life is entwined and entangled
And in our atmost happiness that we've made
You've lost your soul and I my love
And now you knelt before me, facing my descending blade.

But the wheels of fate has turned again
You regained your soul, but for a fleeting moment
You told me you still love me and you still cared
But the gates of Hell has opened and I must choose,
-- the world or your life be spared.

My beloved, my life, my all
Your life and blood is the key
And though you gave your utmost trust
To close the door of Hell's my task.

We kissed our last, full of love and promises
But I had made my choice and I must keep my word
I asked you to trust me and close your eyes
Then I ran you through with my sword.

You looked at me in bewilderment
As pain and confusion mirrored on your face
Your eyes beseech me to tell you why
Yet only tears and sorrows are my reply.

As I bid you, my love, goodbye
I reflect upon my life and on what I have done
Though armageddon is now, but nigh
The world will have peace and love, but I shall have none.
