An Ocean of Feelings

When I look at the ocean,
I think of you.
God knew when he made these beautiful waters,
they would bring joy and happiness to many people.

You have made me happy and brought the feeling
of being overjoyed in my life by just seeing you
standing at at a distance, or hearing your name,
in a single conversation.

But yet, God knew some would get upset and sick
traveling in these same waters.
Just as he knew my heart would be broken by your silence
and the rollercoaster of emotions you sent me on.

He knew then how troublesome and angry
things become on stormy nights.
The way things became when I started questioning
your love for me.

The tide comes in and out
as my feelings do
when you walk into the room,
as I wait to see if you'll speak to me.

The waves rush upon the shore
and the sand absorbs what it can,
leaving fish, trash, and shells, some opened, some closed,
to let us know what is going on.
The water is trying to teach us,
but will we ever learn?

The fish symbolize-all living things, someday, will die.
The trash symbolizezthe lies and mistakes we make, if not made right,
will come back to haunt us.
The shells represent our minds, souls, and hearts,
whether closed or opened,
on accident or on purpose, will always be broken.

The cool breeze at night howls,
the tide comes in and hits the shore hard,
pounding on the sand,
wanting to take our troubles and fears
with them when they draw back.

The ocean will always be there,
until the end of time, to admire,
to learn from, and to love.
Just as I admire, will learn from, and love you-
until there is no pulse and no breath in me.
-Just a cold, lifeless body- dead-forever gone.
But my heart beat for you is everlasting-
It beats on and on, whispering into your ears,
and into your heart-the words- "I CARED!".
