people are paper dolls
  but that's just
     my take
maybe they're all
     for real
and I'm the fake
I search for soul
  in every face
and come away empty
  feeling lost
    in space

    searching
searching for home
starving I travel
   waveless foam
the joke is on me
I'm alien

green & strange
everything is stagnant
   except for change
they say I'm weird
and make little or no sense
my crush on Andy Kauffman
is just so much pretense
I'm Juicy Fruit
I'm Cracker Jack
something is horribly
out of whack
        ...it's like I'm searching
            searching for home
