With a Breath it Begins...

right off it was a conversation
picked up from where we
left off years before
right away I knew you
and it was good
you were the mature adult
with the deadpan face
and the insistent lust
I was the giddy teenager
with the ridiculous smile
and the  "Whatever You Want!"
I wanted you like candy
you weren't sure
what to do 
with me
I was too much contained
in a sloppily wrapped package
you shook me to see
what was inside
and I almost cried
but didn't
because I knew
it was just us
again
and I 
could breathe.
