my child like heart
my child like heart
when you live life
by the moment
your heart always wonders
with an amazingly short attention span
what you have done for it lately
and so mine does
though you clearly have
remade my soul in your image
and my mind knows damned well
where ‘home’ is
within me reigns confusion
this childlike heart
in a short span of innocence
needs to be reminded
who is taking care of it
