Letting go

Funny, how I feel a connection
with this bouquet of roses
you sent with your “goodbye.”
I noticed they’re low 
on water today.
Strange though, 
they’re not withering, 
not exactly dying either, 
just dropping petals
one by one... 
and letting go.
