Good Catholic

Just a ghost of my former self
I love the pope and no one else
   you won't buy
    the literature
   I sell from my
     memory cell
because it does not serve
   your comprehension
life to you is just so much
    condescension
did I mention the fact
   that I hate
your young soul addictions
you say you're wise to the bone
 while your eyes are stoned
    -that's contradiction

 fiction happens for me
     everyday
 I create the people I don't see
      and the words
   they won't say
because this void is driving me
      to such
no, I don't like you
   at least not very much
you're so outta touch
  six feet under swampy ground
  I went looking for Jesus
  and you're what I found
     rotting away
you seemed to say
   Hello there, Alice
     Come Out To Play
 recess is through
I'm bored with you
  and God
  and America
  and myself
I love the pope
   and nobody else
