Peppermint Candy

You came and found me encircled with an hundred mountains blazing gold and red under the setting fire, an orange ball of twilight touching down on my coastline. You came to me with a pretty red ribbon in your spun sugar hair wearing a vanilla dress. When I saw you my happiness sparkled like gold dust in the evening air; my eyes poured forth flaming passion from crucible of desire glowing hot with the cooling of a dying sun. I waited for you to kiss me until you brought me down in the moonlight where I would repay you with tributes of silver ore... In my life of a lonely hermit living in a gingerbread house by the sea, you brought me forth to taste joy flowering my garden. Smelling your silky rosepetal perfume, I closed my eyes to the tinkling crepuscular tune of windchimes, their glittering music and your voice mingling with cool salt air of the rare night ocean; and I beheld you, a beauty now sweetly in bloom! And floating like a bird above my whitewashed victorian gazebo in the center of garden thoughts I took such a flight of fancy in your arms, feeling, wheeling free over the water; then I stopped and hopped for joy, feeding on your vermillion breast, like a robin hidden in shadows. I perched beside you in the garden, sitting on a white wrought iron bench where you held my hand, and, we both sat near each other next to a white trellis covered with the grapevines and red roses, the fantasy of my very own private paradise. I saw there your red lips full and luscious, in fact divine, like ripe hanging fruit from your fertile vine, ready to drop sweetness into my mouth; your lips, as would ruby grapes, invited me to kiss them with a kiss sweeter than wine, and because they begged to be tasted I tasted them and made you mine... We embraced under an orange-red sky, while behind us purple mountains rose to meet the night sky on this coastal windswept evening. You shored up my lonely destiny. Your gentle eyes skimmed my form and ravished me with red peppermint diversions under my hard rock candy moon shimmering over your candycane sea; in rocking waves together, love calling me to fly away and taste the burning dream you offered me. When your eyes first met mine, coming as they did unannounced but welcome at my low ebb, hope came rising quickly as high tide eating the hunger out of my soul and new life came rushing into me, a rising high tide of sugarloaf hopes. The brush of your hair, on my face, touching me softly in the musical breeze slightly, lightly cooled my blushing cheek. You stayed with me awhile, I melted in your candystripe arms, you making me love to float me free, sending my heartache out to sea looking up at your lovely face smile, bending over me. I drifted out of care onto majestic, quiet oceans of peace. And every morning after, when the promise of your love turned my timid dawn into day, you squeezed me afresh in your arms, and together we greeted an orangejuice sun, our redhot hearts sailing far away to an amber sea, like butterscotch candy cooling on the beaten surface of a goldleaf sheet of pure delight, stretching out to the horizon, under a heaven on fire, to welcome us in our peppermint desire to new love on an enchanted isle of peppermint ice cream swirling with our red and white dreams.
