Strange Bird

Who is scented like this flower?
Strange Bird I plucked from my wrist
Thorn planted in my breast

Who sings like a siren?
Strange demon bird, his talons break my bones
Rage in wondrous song

Who flies with me and tastes my breath?
Wings me above a barren cliff
And drops my bones upon the rocks
The ocean like rumpled sheets, my bed
Foams around my shattered flesh

Oh bird of blindness
I sing of you still
Take me where you will
Strange bird.
