Of all the things I have wanted to say
When the poems run dry
And the words won’t come
And the love songs quit playing
The music that sings your love to me
That is when
My spirit goes quiet
And fades to the heart
Where you live abiding as best friend
And lover, and love
And the heart doesn’t lie at a time like this.
Of all the things I have needed to hear
When the days run bad
And I start blaming myself
For a life going wrong once again
Well I never give up hope
When I can reach inside
And hear you say
I’m right here beloved.
And I reside in the deepest part of you now
Forever to be one
And the heart speaks true at a time like this.
The heart speaks true.
