A Climb for Love

Isn't it strange
That from a distance you can see
The top of the highest mountains?
Yet, while climbing
It seems impossible to know
How long it will take to get there.

Even in climbing
It's hard to tell if a path
Will continue to reach towards the sky.
When the path starts sloping downward,
It's time to go back and retrace the steps
In order to choose a better path.

Sometimes after feeling so lost and confused
Decide to start over from the beginning
And study and research the trails
With more intent and sincerity than ever before --
This time knowing
Which path leads to the summit.

And when I finally reach the top,
I'll look for you, my friend.
