Bad Polaroid

I had so much to tell you about
-So much to say
but you were miles away
so I chained my thoughts down
    for a moment
-they nearly got away-
and snapped 'em with my camera
    the picture came out bad
    words failed
-I sent it anyway-
I wish I could just send the film instead

And now you're ten feet away;
-so close-
and I don't know what to say again;

-I never know what to say
If you could just see the film instead
