BT Journal Entry III

In a card I received from Meme, she
informed me that Chase called from
Korea and wanted to know if I was
in the army. He asked for my Kerrville
phone number but Pop wouldn't give it
to him.
I got gleeful, of course, and have
been on a high ever since- fool that
I am. Keep goin' for the burn. I
guess I've achieved immunity.
Sometimes a girl can go to Olympic
proportions to get some drama in her
life. Some girls don't even have to
try. Well I was born to the former
school and we be fools we sing the
blues because girls like me have to
pay our dues. Shoes made for walking
many a weary mile when there's a whole
lotta something behind an empty smile.
My sisters in soul are Patsy Cline,
Billie Holiday, Courtney Love, Janis
Joplin, Anne Sexton, Sylvia Plath and
Tina Turner. I want to preach to the
masses in a baby doll dress and Mary
Janes about Girl Power and lollipops
and how vital they are to nirvana-
especially orange ones. I'm writing
CRAZY to escape the mundane, rolling
around in rainbows to exit the drab
green for a flashing moment.
