Priorities

I could live in room with out lamps or leather chairs;
   I could willingly carry the burdens that life bears.
Without carpet or shelving, dishwasher or clothes,
   I wouldn't worry about a garage, or if my car goes.
Of less I would care about position and fame...
   Of 401k's and vactions in Spain.
No more fashion or hairlines or crowsfeet would hinder
   My enjoyment of the days of summer and winter;

Because you would be there...on a lone bear-skin rug;
   As I enter the room, we long for that hug...

      that caress

             that stare

                     that dimple in a cheek;

   The touch and the knowledge that makes the other weak.

Because our room would be nothing but large glass framed in gold
   Gateways for the sunshine, windows to our souls!
Now I COULDN'T do without the color of dawn;
   The look on your face when you stretch out and yawn...
When you curl in a ball and put your head on my lap,
   How I don't want to move as you l there and nap.
How on a new dress you'll blow all your money,
   And then get upset at losing a buck in Gin Rummy.
Of our enjoyment of comics (Hobbes, Cathy and Snoopy);
   Of your wonderous entertainment of precious' little poopies.

       I know these are the momements that make my life complete
       To think of living without out them.....

                   ...I can't help but weep.
