Goodnight Angel
She walked slowly down the hall
listening for the voice to call
to call out to her in the night...
Who was that man
who was it
that promised her
all she could ever want and more
so much more...
Her shadow walked with her down the hall
hearing the voice that called
the voice that called out to her
it said, "goodnight, angel"
it said, "you don't have to tell me because I already know what you want."
it said, "I can give it to you."
So with the candle in her hand
she walked back down the hall
to her room
where she would fall
out of the window
and into her dream
of a garden...
and the beautiful voice said, "it's all here."
"I've been waiting for you for so many years."
As she slipped into her dream,
the king whispered, "Goodnight, Angel."
And she slept like no one ever has
or ever will again.
