Apple

She looked at me.
    Devilishly.
Holding a green apple.
Sucking the life.
Out of one end.

Gives a whole new meaning
To come bite the apple.
I said
As she looked at me
With knowing eyes
and a beautiful smile.

As she laughed at my remark.
And I smiled
    fiendishly.
Wondering if that apple
Would grant me
    wisdom
or be my
    eternal damnation.
Again.

I was thinking
It would be worth it.
I already feel damned
    In my own prison.
But I was distracted
By an earthborn angel (Shannon)
    Not sent to save me.

And I know
I would have bitten that apple.
If it would grant me
    Her heart.
Or
    Her number.

Which isn't quite.
An original sin.

God keeps saving me
But
I can't help wanting
    To sin
With someone
    Special.
