What she did for me

She lies prostrate on the bed
A provoked look on her face
That clearly lets me know
Soothing words will not erase

We both knew this time would come
When nature would take its course
Our love would join as one
No need to find the source

And the pain that she endures
will not go unrewarded
for I love her more than ever
so much, it seems distorted

And when the act is over
we gasp at what we've done
I listen to her sobs
as I gaze into the face of our son
