Celebrated Sacrifices

Sins...
Coming in a one-size-fits-all fashion,
Traveling at breakneck speeds just to lose the rat race...
It wasn't just a fickle decision...
It was more or less on a whim...

You don't understand the reasons for the passings
But understanding original intentions calms you
It would have been a simple change of plans...
But nothing in the world can heal your wounds...

Scars...
Paraded on our bodies like trophies,
The applause get to be too loud for the children's ears...
It was probably just an amazing dream...
It was a victimless crime...

You only wish you knew her life
And all the things you wish you'd said
As she rains the clouds down inside herself
She holds the pencil above her head

Fade...
A fad, a trend...set your position to normal,
The winds, at high tide, can rock the boat if you let them subside...
Fat of the land causes the horses to expand,
Graze long enough at home and the grass you're eating looks greener
And eventually, you want the grass of a lesser hue
