eden dreams

there was a freedom
when that sun set
i believed in everything for a minute
when sky exploded before my eyes
and i almost believed i could
be with you in eden
when our skin was born together of purity
and i could feast on your body
with the meerest glance and
be filled
and i could drink in your gaze
and feel the sudden
quaking of my heart in my feet
without
you
touching
me
and you would dance around me
proclaiming your love through motion
you would weave a wreath of flowers
and set them on my head
i was the mother of eden
and you the father
i would lie down by the water
and wish for it to surround my body
and to float high above the tide
and crest with it
i watched you
in your deep sleep
i touched my finger tips..to your temples
as the sun set carelessly with its light
on your face....
but that was then
when eden was only
a
dream
