Henry

henry face the mirror
tell me what you see
a man in need of a blessing
but they don't come for free
there's something deep inside you
that makes you want to scream
henry lay your burdens down on me

henry said, "my mary,
she is leaving me.
my friends give me the shoulder
but that don't comfort me.
i feel just like a baby
helpless as can be."
henry lay your burdens down on me

and he cries at night
when her light
fades away
and he wonders how
things turned out
this way

henry keeps a picture
locked inside his heart
but everyday's a struggle
to not be torn apart
he never knew that love would
ever be so hard
henry can you heal a broken heart?

and he thinks sometimes
he just might throw it in
cause all he sees
is that he needs her again

henry died this morning
all alone
his heart just couldn't handle
being left alone
at least he's never lonely
with mary by his side
henry
i hope i see you
in that sweet
by and by.
