Kiss Me

Soft red curve, glistening wet, inviting
Too inviting to rush
So I inhale
Strawberry Fields Forever
And I exhale

Visions of being sixteen all over
'Toast and marmalade for tea...
Sailing ships upon a sea...'
Time travel  in a lingering odor of peaches and cream.

Your kisses are never the same you know,
Like my dreams
they have a thousand faces
And I want to know them all
intimately.

Warm breathe lingering on my cheek
As you tease me by turning your head
Maddening impatience
tempered by your smile
knowing you will make it worthwhile

Memories of roses and lavender invade my senses
Your secret smell.
Jasmine and hyacinth
with an undertone of wild strawberry
and oriental jade left in the moon's glow to collect the morning dew.

When you are away and I get lonely
Sometimes late at night
I get out your camisole and place it under my pillow
Just so I awaken with that soft sacred scent of you
permeating my senses

And when I open my eyes back and lean forward
How can I not hold this moment sacred
When every kiss has a lifelong history
In place and awaiting my discovery.
