Mending Your Wings

You were so proud of your free flight solo--
So deep in the satisfaction
that you could actually use those wings,
that I didn't want to discourage you.
Now you are reeling from crash and burn
and wondering if those poor tattered stumps
will ever help you acchieve flight again...
The good news is---
yes dear, you will fly again.
The bad news is---
every time you take wing,
you risk freefall to disaster.
You can stay on the ground,
watch the clouds,
wish  and remember what it felt like.
Or you can risk the fall,
gather your courage
and soar again.
And I never said it would be easy, child.
Just possible.
