Carried Away By Moonlight

Its all been made hazy
Each night a blur of steam
and moon light
and summer fogs
and alcohol haze
loosens our inhibitions
makes moves all by itself
as I drift toward you
without realizing it
until out lips touch
no kiss ever spoke to me
the dance had become routine
making love took fifteen minutes
add a half an hour for some sort of foreplay
holding hands was simply to make sure
someone was still on the other end
and we never made eye contact any more
looked passed each other
afraid of the deepest commitment
in a long loving gaze
And at night time I come to you
for what is missing
what is revealed by darkness
and not by day light
for what we acknowledge in whispers
afraid of speaking certainly
only frantically pleasing each other
in that desperate way
of people
who can find love no other way.
