The Girl That You Care About

And I imagine her again
she flows into the room in the midday warmth
light
with a smile
that glows
and fills me

and we stroll across
the cool grass caressing our feet
the apple tree's blossoms lending their sweet perfume
mixed with a touch of lilac
and the touch of your fingers
gently against my skin
and the shivers come
electric across my back
and disappear into the summer heat

and down to the river
the smell of the water
trickling, running,
audibly kissing the rocks
in its journey to the limitless things
as we dip our toes in
and the buzz of the bumblebee
mix with the cardinal song
to serenade you
to sing you the love ballad
my heart is writing lyrics for

and all the things that make me love you
hold you, want you
drink in your presence
your scent
absorb the soft touch, the caress
wind around me
making me dizzy with the thrill of being near you
and imagining every day like this one
when I find you

if only I knew your name
