Sunday Dessert

Sunday evening, sun on the balcony, wind off the lake:

There on the table,
Perfect for us: one tall thick glass, overflowing sweet,
And one spoon to share.

The first bite is so good: cold, creamy, with the velvet chocolate melting the smooth vanilla snow.

The spoon skis down the glacier for another bite, have to scoop it up quickly, so as not to drip too much!  Mouth watering, tongue in ecstasy, sharing spoonful after spoonful, mouthful upon mouthful, until...

The rich fudgey finish: two last scoops, only a hint of ice cream left,
Lick of the lips, last savourings, eyes meet, and you propose:

"Dessert was delicious: how about a main course?"
