Until Then...

If the sun should shine so brightly
   on a day when we are apart,
Imagine how blinding it will be
   when we are together again.

The rains of sorrow
   no longer cloak my heart
   when I am not with you.
Instead, my heart seeks the
   memories that we have made together,
   and comforts itself
   until it can touch you once more.

The empty nights are no longer
   filled with the fear of being alone.
Rather, I lie there in the dark,
   reliving memories of a sweeter
   time when I was wrapped in your arms.
I can almost hear your even breaths,
   knowing you are deep in 
   the sleep of dreamers.

I am alone, apart from you,
   yet I am not lonely.
My heart beats on,
   as in unison with your's.
My soul reaches out,
   touching your's across the miles.

I am alone,
   but not forever.
I know you are out there,
   my love,
   and we will be together once more.
