Once, when I cried
I wished for love

Once when I needed someone to talk to
I wished for a friend
And I got you.
Once when I felt sorrow
I wished for happiness
And I got you.
Once when I felt bereft
I wished for everything
And I got you.
Now that I have you,
I intend to:
love you
talk with you
be with you
need you
cherish you
understand you;
and I intend to want you forever.
Because, now that I have you,
I have everything.
