Piece of Earth at Sea

I wish your hand would find my reaching fingers with out trying
Gather my whole self in your arms
A union of eyes and space
And defy every doubt my thoughts have absorbed

I warm my fruit in your rare and distant sun, I wait for you
Pluck my heart from Love's ripe branches
Taste my soul, sink your teeth in
And let my sweet inner juice run down your chin.

Offer me the gift of your secret smile and persuasive touch
Linger a moment here and there
Over starved and suckling curves.
Drain inundating loneliness with pleasure.

I want you to prove that my hope can float on turbulent waves
Be my mast and sail and anchor
Over the white caps of life.
You will always be my piece of earth at sea.
