Insufficient Inspiration

If I could spin thoughts artistic
sugary pink cotton candy creations
whirled round a stick

If I could bend and cut my hard granite images
into reflective little prisms

If I could conform my hearts patterings
into a stanza,
or sentence,
or symphony,
Then I would channel all my love and desire
into a perfect little poem package,
a sonnet,
a song,
Critics would stand silent
The world hailing my talent.

But today as every day
my apolegetically plain steno book with ink
fall short of the glory of you
I ball up another sad, lacking, body of words
begging ot be forgotten
silly simple musings of a silly simple girl.
