Reasons Alike
Being with you...
It's like getting goosebumps
For the simple reason that you
Are so close.
Or having butterflies
Because I know what is
Behind that smile.
It's like having your arms
Around me, but not holding
As tight as you want.
Or your kisses being blessed
Upon my neck, but them not lasting
As long as I want them to.
Being with out you...
It's like getting goosebumps,
But only because I'm cold.
Or having butterflies,
Only because I'm nervous.
It's like sitting in my bed,
And trying to replicate your embrace,
And failing.
Or remembering the kisses
I took for granted.
Keep me warm,
Calm my nerves,
Hold me tight,
Kiss me for the right reasons,
Cherish me like I do you.
