I Stood in the Shower Until the Water Ran Cold

Last night I was standing in the shower 
after the hot water was gone
when I opened my lips slightly 
to taste the water on my tongue
and I was reminded of times when I was young,
playing in the sprinkler on a hot summer day,
walking in the rain,
and learning to swim in the funfilled pool.

Then I thought of Love 
and I realized that it is much like standing in the shower 
until the water runs cold
and feeling as though you are 
playing in the sprinkler
walking in the rain
and learning to swim in a fun filled pool.
