Courtly

You bring the faintest flush of pink to my skin,
courtly words kindly spoken,
but tinted with more than courtesy.
You would hold me close
admire me like the oh so rare porcelain
that cost a dynasty
it's dreams...
How can you know that the heart
craves such things -- especially the heart that has learned
not to expect such cosseting?...
