in the dark

in the dark
all alone
in my unmade bed
my body
is spread out like a blanket
smooth
untouched
i am a decoration
for this naked matress
so cold
here in the dark
with no arms
to wind myself in
no flesh
to lend my own to
my flat stomach
like a blank canvas
with out your touch
it is no work of art
thousands of hours i spent
perfecting it for you
when it was you
who made it perfect
did you know that with out light
there cannot be color
i lay here with out you
not existing
in the dark
