Forever and a day
is a high price to pay.
They say that waiting
is the hardest part,
but harder yet
is a faithful heart.
Try as I may,
I never found
the right things to say
I never learned
the right way to play
I never could
wait forever
and a day.
Shine on
my weepy moon
please remind me
that you shine on everyone
bask me
in your soothing rays
and give to me
my moonlight fantasies
my stargazing ways
of
forever and a day.
