The Story of Us

The Story Of Us

Once upon a time, in a land of distant memories now,
Lived a brave little boy, determined to find out how..
Things worked in his wide, magical kingdom of color and love.
Knights rode, and fair maidens danced daily; the stuff life was made of.

Days were pure joy, while nights gave way to dreams of laughter and hope.
There was no need at all to ask his God how to cope.
Until a great evil came to the land...
Settling into the very fiber of the kingdom; swallowing the innocence of this young, young man.

The strange, ugly secret that unfolded that day...
Was even worse for this prince 'cause the kingdom's knights continued to sing and play.
Invisible to their eyes and hearts, the kingdom's defenders had no way...
To fight back the darkness; bring back the light if you may...

So our story seems deeply dark and hopeless for our little hero so hurt.
To save his own soul; the white within closed his heart tight, and curt.
He descended within to hide there for awhile you see...
Never expecting that his spirit could ever be set free.

But like all great epics there is a savior in this tale.
A beautiful, fair maiden; one that men sought, but many, many fell...
Unable to coax her affection nor love day after day.
She held that dear to herself and was determined there in her heart it would stay.

She knew of wizards and dragons and evil set free...
And Lo and behold she found out about what had transpired with me.
Intrigued and yet so deeply, truly sad about this prince's fate...
She decided action was necessary...She simply refused to wait.

Every day she went to the dark, damp castle to sit and just talk to the sleeping heir,
And eventually the kingdom's hand maidens got used to her being there.
They gave it no real thought, for others had come before her.
And deep in their hearts, they knew she would not reach their still young sir.

They knew not that this beautiful young maiden held a secret within her heart too.
One that gave her an insight into the the ways of healing and balm, just too few...
Ways she could reach within her own heart and soul to bring up her need,
Of the power of love and hope; she needed just one rare seed...

To plant a tree of life everlasting; love borne on the fruit of the vine...
That she could pick with her love, ferment and transform into wine.
Because she instinctively knew what was needed; just one litttle sip
Of the fruit of her love, essence or her spirit made real, to cross the soft curve of his lip.

So she set out that very day, determined to plot a course.
Find a way to reach his sleeping heart and mind without making it worse.
And the maiden prayed to God, and wonder of wonders, she heard...
In a voice of echoed majesty and hope just one single word.

At first confused and afraid the answer would not hold true...
She raced back to the castle with a secret hope in her heart anew.
For her God had answered, and the word she had softly heard seemed a clue...
That the powers of the heavens were conspiring along with her; the word was simply "YOU".

The castle was dark, the young heir's knights were all gone...
And the still, soft dark whispered of hope and love within, yet alone.
She was nervous and so full of hope that her lithe hand began to shake...
As she offered forth her precious essence of love in a potion her tears helped make.

Such hope unbounded could never go without reward from Eros of Love from above,
And as the first drop touched his soft red lip, a feeling of music without real form, born of love...
Settled in the secret chamber that day; And deep within the chambers of her breast for her keeping...
God planted that seed....one that might lead to her own needed healing.

And as the prince awoke, his dry eyes all aflutter...
No words were even needed; He had found his true other,
The missing piece of his soul, he recognized rather fast and true
Within such pools of raidiant beauty; Eyes??.... nay oceans of blue.

So we will leave these tender two at this point; we must understand...
That to behold what transpires next with mere eyes of a man.
Is dangerous yet compelling; For soul mates once reunited, tested by such fire..
Not only need their secret privacy for whispers of love without tire...

But they have also found the true Kingdom of God settled above.
And were amazed to really see for the first time through their joint love...
That that kingdom was not without, but within...
The unbared heart of us mortal humans, even with our secret sins.

For God is simply love; made manifest by his desire...
To heal broken spirits, pull them out of such mire.
And reunite lost lovers whose hearts may be darkened by the evil one's actions
Counteracting every hurt fear, and lonely faction.

So let me end this tale by simply saying this....
My song today is dedicated to that brave young princess...
She is called by name the magical word 'Sandi',
But within this prince's heart I call her Love Everlasting.
